Hi Lucky and all
I am just reading this on Monday morning, end of week 3 weigh in, so I thought I must post instead of cooking OH breakfast.
Much older than you, very fat, have had sciatica for 20 years, some suggestions. Losing weight is good, walking is good, simple yoga poses like cobra and downward dog and pose of a child are good. Swimming is the best.
There is an operation, not a huge success rate, anti-inflammatories do not really work on nerve pain, despite what the gp said. You need an MRI not just an Xray or at least a CT scan. I at last have a neurologist, after like you, managing it for years. I even got a script for opiates and decided they were worse than the pain. But I can tell he does not really want to operate, because what we have is bone growth over the nerve and it is arthritis!
What you really need, and it may be hard for you, is a warm swimming pool. Find a doctor who will send you for hydro-therapy. They must be about. You don’t have to swim for the Olympics just dog paddle or breast stroke or walk.
Some-one posted this recipe on another forum and said it was good http://www.nourishingdays.com/2010/07/fluffy-coconut-flour-pancakes/
I am sure that almond meal would work in most recipes, we are not making sponge cakes. I have been making non-wheat pancakes for years and if it is not fine enough just put in in the blender!
Good night and good morning from downunder
Start of week 4. for me 9 lbs down
