Hi, I’m new to all of this but I’m gonna give it my best shot. I was just wondering can you have cous cous, if so how much would be a portion? Thanks in advance

I think that’s made from refined wheat? If so, it probably isn’t allowed.

No sorry, cous cous is definitely out. It’s made from durum wheat and so is high in carbs. If you must have something similar, you could have a small portion of quinoa, but even that is high in carbs with 60 calories and 10.7g carbs in just a 50g portion of cooked quinoa. Much better to use cauli rice or courgetti if you need something as a substitute for the carb elements you are used to in meals. However, if you can teach yourself not to need any substitute, all the better, as it makes eating out so much easier down the line.

    Best of luck to you.
