    Hi Pootle and everyone.
Still here. Diet has been up and down but weight consistent. Still walking every morning. 2.3 miles very quickly. Down to about half hour now.
Unfortunately I suffer on and off with vertigo and get very bad bouts. Last bad one was 2 years ago and was practically bed bound for 8 weeks and last few days have been suffering typical when off on my rebooked holiday tuesday. Only positive is meds seem to be helping this time . They dont always. Spent most of the morning in tears due to what I perceive as rhe unfairness of it all . After everything the last few years. Determined not to cancel holiday. Have cancelled 2 due to vertigo previously and 1 this year due to my dad’s death. Feeling pretty low tbh but I feel better than I did this morning.
Fingers crossed it will all be OK.
Hope you’re all doing well. Plus point got into a lot more clothes for holiday this time! Xx

    Hi Lucy,
Happy Christmas and all good wishes for 2026!

Sorry I haven’t been in touch for months.. life became very hectic.. I have thought of you often, wondering if your first grandchild has arrived safely and how you are coping. Did you enjoy your holiday??

I lost my 14 year old dog in September, had to take the difficult decision! 😭 As the house was so empty, we got a puppy in October… a totally different character and I had forgotten just how much hard work a puppy is!! But we are getting there!

I relaxed my diet over the last 10 days and have put some weight back on, but I am still lighter than last Christmas! 🤞 I can get back on the wagon when all the bad goodies have gone!
    Thinking of you.
    Xx

Hi all. Thanks Pootle and verano for your messages
I am indeed a grandparent to a little girl called esme who arrived early back in October. , she’s beautiful.
Unfortunately my other sons ivf failed again so always feel the pressure stuck in the middle
As for my diet….fundamentally have been good. Christmas ive gone a bit wild and put a fair bit on which was actually a shock this morning. Thats the only thing I find with this particular diet is when you eat what you want for a bit it goes on sooooo quick, far more than any other diet ive been on. Its like the carbs just bump up the weight so quick.
Apart from that I have remained the same , just have this half stone to het off starting next week when all food and niceities have gone! Feel confident I will achieve this although I know initially it will be hard. Hoping to get into the ladt remaining stone too which so far I haven’t. .
Happy new year to you all. Hope all your diets are going wrll.
Poitle…ahhh a puppy how wonderful. Apart from the hard work
    All the best xx

I’m sorry to hear about the vertigo flare-up—it’s incredibly frustrating, especially right before your holiday after everything you’ve been through. Your determination to go ahead despite past cancellations is inspiring, and it’s great that the meds are helping this time while your walking routine and fitting into more clothes show real progress.

    Vertigo Travel Tips
Many people with vertigo travel successfully by preparing ahead. Key strategies include arriving early at the airport to minimize stress, which can worsen symptoms. Opt for a seat over the wings (less turbulence) or an aisle/window for stability and easy movement.

    Managing Symptoms on the Go
Stay hydrated with water, avoiding alcohol and caffeine that dehydrate and exacerbate dizziness. Use a neck pillow for head support, focus on fixed points if dizzy, chew gum during takeoff/landing for ear pressure, and practice deep breathing to reduce anxiety.

    Medication Notes
Antihistamines often provide better short-term relief than benzodiazepines for vertigo, though effectiveness varies. Since your meds are working now, pack extras and consult your doctor for travel-specific advice like decongestants.

Fingers crossed for smooth travels—sounds like you’re building momentum with the diet and walks. Take care, and update us if you can! Xx
