CONTENT MANAGER: HEALTHLAB ONLINE

Job brief

We are looking for a content manager to create and manage content for our HealthLab Online website and subscription service.

You will not only be responsible for creating content, but also managing content and making sure it is ready and distributed on time to our customers.

This role will involve extensive planning and ensuring that the content created is in-line with the company events over the year (i.e. book and online program releases etc.), and that it also reflects what is currently in the media (i.e. reviewing whatever is trending in nutrition, health and fitness). It is also required that you create and manage weekly subscription content (i.e. a weekly podcast, a weekly recipe, a weekly article, and ‘our opinion piece’ etc.).

As our company products and services reflect a scientific and research based approach to health, you will ideally have some training in nutrition/ food science/ exercise and health science. You will also have excellent writing and communication skills, and be able to relay scientific information to an audience that doesn’t necessarily have a scientific background.

The content you will need to provide ranges from:

  • Providing reviews and articles on the latest research and information relating to health, nutrition and fitness
  • Creating educational handouts and emails
  • Writing weekly articles on new trending ideas and perspectives relating to health and nutrition
  • Sourcing and managing weekly podcast content and presenters
  • Assisting in creating new online programs (similar to the BSD online program)
  • Weekly emails sent out to subscribed users in mailchimp

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage program, website and weekly subscription content
  • Creating content
  • Managing others (i.e. podcast presenters and researchers who may want to be involved with our company)
  • Finding interesting people in the health/ nutritional/ fitness world to interview
  • Ability to talk to researchers and scientists to get them involved with our company work
  • Plan program content around media and company events

Requirements

  • Proven experience writing articles related to nutrition, health, fitness and Science
  • Proven experience in reviewing and analyzing research
  • Background in science, with focus on health and nutrition
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage content required for a number of different services
  • Ability to plan ahead
  • Ability to manage others
  • Experience in loading and managing content on web platforms
  • Experience in WordPress beneficial
  • Preferred graphic design experience
  • Social media experience essential with proven results in achieving audience engagement
  • Organized
  • Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
  • Willing to work as part of a team
  • Must be a ‘self-starter’
  • Willingness to work for a start-up company
