Wow SunnyB! Goose eggs at that price…..
When I lived in Worcestershire I had good outlets for goose eggs, but struggle to give them away round here! I often end up feeding them to the cats and dog…probably even more so now I am not baking! (Maybe I should bake and give the cakes away, but I think the temptation would be too great!)

    So to today’s positive:
The sun is still shining and husband and I are having a day off/out! A very unusual occurrence ! ☀️☀️☀️😁😁😁

Hi all, a few days since my last visit here. Been busy sorting out things for when we die – we all do and hubby hitting 80 in a couple of weeks leads your mind towards checking everything is in order.

    Positives are:
    Only 5 weeks to cruise
Tomorrow meeting dressmaker to alter jumpsuit and a dress – maybe take out hubbys suit trousers
Weather gorgeous at 21 degrees with a nice cooling breeze
Had my first long walk of the year – down out little lane – 40 mins.
Listening to Mel Robbins talking to an orthopedic surgeon who says movement is medicine and we can all stay vital and fit into old age. I refuse to walk slowly at any time. She says we don’t get old because of age we get old because we stop moving. Although I am lot slower than my daughter when we go for walks.

Not sure I can agree with Mel Robbins in that ‘movement’ keeps us from ageing. I ‘move’ my brain with all sorts of puzzles every day and I feel that keeps me from ‘ageing’ despite the fact that my mobility is challenged!

    Anyway, I’m here so I will post a positive….
We have relatively new neighbours who have become ‘friends’ and they called to see us last night, with choccy biscuits that we won’t eat, but offering ‘help’ whenever we need it. Really lovely ‘gift’ especially as neither of our children live near and ‘time is marching on’.

SG, we have sunshine but not the temperature, still quite chilly here. I need to get out walking too … it’s vaguely on my agenda, but I have started using the rowing machine again though.
Verano, how lovely to have friendly and supportive neighbours. I’m sure you can gift the biccies to someone else.

I need to post a positive or two as well, so here goes:
🥘🍽 prep for date night dinner is well under way.
🎉🎁 have successfully sorted out gifts and cards for March birthdays … just mother’s day to cover off now.
Those two will do for today …. what about you?

    Hi,Happy Monday to all x!

*~ Got a Womens Day greeting on Saturday from a very lovely lady, also a fab photo of her and her hubby!
*~ Joined a six week course of ear acupuncture/ head and neck massage/ a little meditation..feel marvellous after it and looking forward to the next five sessions. Im hoping the acupuncture will finally put an end to the sciatica thats been hanging round since July 4 th last year,I remember that date as it was voting day. I’m a great believer in ear acupuncture. Back in 1979,it cured me of my 30 cigarettes a day bad habit.
*~ Had a blind scouse lunch for the last time..delicious,but no more now til autumn swings around. Looking forward sooooooo much to Mothers Day / Easter and assorted spring/ summer goodies to eat.
*~ Been doing a ‘ tiny tidy’ every day..just going through a drawer,a cupboard,a shelf,a box…running out of tiny tidy places to tackle now. Highly recommend it as it isnt a daunting task at all.

Yowser, pleased to have you posting your positives. The ‘tiny tidy’ is a great idea … definitely one I should adopt. Hope the acupuncture resolves your sciatica soon, it’s been around far too long.

Here are my positives for today ….
🖼🖼 been dabbling with watercolours …. 2 reasonable successes and 2 questionables. I’m hoping with a bit of reworking, the iffy 2 can be recovered.
🙂🙂 did some exercise on the rowing machine

Nice to have a few positives and nice to hear about yours too.

    1. Also having a clear out, must be Spring. Kitchen drawers and cupboards, lots of cups even 2 complete coffee sets, the ones with the tiny cups the French like. Nice to be able to find stuff in the drawer now it is not so cluttered.
    2. Just on the same subject, I have lots of bag clips in a drawer and I have to rake through everything to find the right size. Hubby had 2 croissants in a clear plastic box so I cut the bottom half off and now use it for storing clips.
    3. Blood results yesterday were really good, or should I say as good as they always are. Just need to get down further with less and less insulin but holiday looms.
    4. 31 days before we set off on holiday, 33 days to getting on the ship.

🎉🥳 the bathroom scales have finally shift in the right direction 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♀️ not hugely, but enough to give my resolve a boost.
🖥🖥 this afternoon I caught up with missed episodes of a favourite TV programme.
😊😊 Nice long phone chat with DD … she and GS are coming for a charcuterie lunch tomorrow

Hi all, just a few positives

Been shopping for summer tops although it might not be that warm in the Med in April. When you go in shops in France they want your details for the future. Some Brits say no but it is the same as a loyalty card. I signed up in Etam, bought a Tshirt for €19.99 which was on sale with 30% off and a gift of €1 for my birthday last month – cost €13.00. I love a bargain.
Same for me Sunny, scales have shown a small shift downwards, maybe the TRE suits me better than just keto.
Picked up our drycleaned duvet – now just hope smelly cat keeps away from it 🙂

They have a similar thing in some of the chain stores in Turkiye, SG. You just give them you mobile number and you get items at a discount at the till and they text promotional offers to you as well.
I think the TRE probably is helping … it certainly seems to be useful for me.

    Positives here ….
🍽🍽 lovely lunch with DD and GS … and by a small miracle OH didn’t have any work on, so was able to join us.
🌞🌞 was sunny most of the day, so after lunch we took a walk to a local antique shop for a little mooch. Didn’t find anything to temp us to purchase, but was quite interesting.
Those will do for me today …. enjoyed the family time and a very pleasant day.

Lovely to read all your positives. Thank you.

It may be the 13th, unlucky for some, but for me today one HUGE positive……
I came to this WOL in mid 2016 with metformin controlled T2. By May 2017 my blood sugars were under control without medication. Fast forward 8 years and today it has become ‘official’. My medical records now show … I’m in remission!!!! Finally, after 8 years, and my latest annual review, I can now say I’m not diabetic🎉🎉🎉🎉

I definitely couldn’t have done it without all your support on these boards. I may have re-gained some weight over the last 7 years or so but my blood sugars have remained stable mainly because I’ve known where to come when I’ve needed support. So thank you!

The 13th is turning out to be great for both of us. Long hard slog and now a case of keeping on keeping on …. for me … and for you a huge great pat on the back for getting back to your lowest weight for 9years. How many units are you on now compared to 9 years ago???? Another huge pat on the back. I think you will eventually manage to do the ‘impossible’ and come off insulin completely.

Struggling a bit with positives today, but I’m sure I can find at least one ….
🎨🖌 had a play with my watercolours again today. Really enjoying trying various techniques and producing a few acceptable results.

Sunny, I often wish I could paint….so envy your watercolours. 🎨

My positive for today…a little difficult but-
Lambing has started (we only have 10 ewes!) with an old ewe having twin lambs….but she hasn’t enough milk for both….however, the littlest has taken to the bottle instantly! So much easier when they want to suckle! 😁

Hi all of you positive people.

V, to answer your question about insulin. When I started 9 years ago I was on between 40 and 44 units. Last night I dropped down to 11 units as I was constantly having to get up in the middle of the night to have a Werthers to bring BG up. So another unit down. I know what will happen on holiday but I am going to be super careful and I don’t have a sweet tooth and will forgo the sweet cocktails for a nice vodka and slimline.

Great you have picked up your watercolour Sunny. My house is full of paintings I have done in the past but nothing for the last 10 years or so. Housesitters always comment on how much they like them, even had one send me a card of his wifes attempt spurred on by seeing mine during their sit. She did a lovely job. I seem to have lost some of the tricks and knacks we were taught at nightclass. I have made do with paint by numbers but very intricate ones and even one of my two grandsons. Determined to get back into doing my own but might have to buy new paints. I use the tubes as I find them easier to get plenty of paint on the palette, will look at them when we return in May and maybe throw a lot away. Another positive of clearing things out.

S-g I think you are doing the ‘ impossible’. I’m sure if you were to speak to any medic they would say that once you start using insulin you only way is up! Yet you’ve reduced yours by 75%. Amazing! I think that really is a great achievement. Thank you Michael for showing us that reversing T2 really is possible.

    A positive from me …..

🛫🛳️☀️Checked my flights today and we are now just 31 days before we fly. Think I should start checking out my wardrobe!

🛌🪞🛌 Bedroom carpet chosen! Maybe a few weeks but looking forward to a refreshed bedroom. Now I just need to do a few of Yowzer’s ‘tiny tidies’!

Have a good and positive week.

Scrolling through these and finding inspiration from all the positive vibes. So I am a newbie – officially at the end of week 3 and my positives are:
I had roast pork, apples and shallots (a BSD recipe unbelievably) with celeriac mash and for anyone joining the diet for the first time, the food you are actually allowed within the 800 calorie limit turns out to be delicious, varied and, yes, filling!!
I had a few tired days but I now have bags of energy. Took the dog for an immensely long walk today and I still feel full of beans!
I think it’s cleared up the brain fog too – along with the physical energy levels I feel mentally sharper too.
Anyone wavering, my message to you is if I can do it so can you!!!! Also I have already lost a shed ton of weight!!!!!

    2. The sunshine has inspired me to sow courgette, butternut squash and sunflower seed today. ☀️🌱🌱🌻

Pootle, I’m thrilled the tiny lamb is doing well… how lovely to be involved in bringing new life into the world. Hope all of your lambs do well.
V, I love that feeling of counting down to a trip away too.
SG, your transformative journey on the BSD is an inspiration to us all. Getting your insulin so low is amazing!
Sounds like you produce real artwork in a very much higher league than mine, SG. Should make it clear that I really do just dabble with paints and have little artistic ability. I’m not capable of creating anything realistic, it’s all very impressionistic and abstract. That said, I am quietly pleased with some of the results and I find the process relaxing and meditative.

Anyway, positives from me today are ….
🚘🗺 have at last got our road trip to Turkiye planned and various elements booked … we leave home on 9th April, can hardly wait!
🍽🙂 made a very tasty dish of baked salmon in a creamy lemon and tarragon sauce for dinner this evening.
🙂🙂 has a little outing to an antiques emporium, with DD and GS this afternoon … very pleasant way to while away a couple of hours.

March is a ‘bad’ month for me…so a bit of a struggle to find positives every day…but, for today..
    1. Weight is still fluctuating by a few pounds but all below my target/ideal weight of 10st 7lb. Yesterday it was 10st 3lb…the lightest I have been for over 30 years! Today, 10st 4 & 1/2lb, still lighter than I have been for years!
    2. Cooked gammon steak, red cabbage & apple with celeriac chips for main course tonight… but the best positive is…
    3. Found the first British grown asparagus in a local shop today, so had that as a starter with hollandaise sauce! Yum!😋😋😋

    Hi all,

Think I have bought a car today. Hubby left me in the showroom while he sorted the servicing. I found a salesman and got all the information needed. I am going to pretend it will be his decision but I have done all the leg work (and in French) so he will find it easy to deal with. Did the same thing 10 years ago so he was very brave to leave me to my own devices.

No, to moving from France. Daughter has very different ideas of how our lives should be and we are still living our dream.
Altered clothes back and ready to pack. Then, talking to the estate agent who is a friend from when we thought of selling before, she says she has 3 evening dresses she doesn’t want and will bring them round for me to try next week. So I might have a NEW wardrobe as all my other long dresses have been worn many times.

🌸🌿 once again, my garden has been a balm to my troubled soul. Delighted to see the lilacs are starting to bloom and roses beginning to form buds.
🧳🚘 packing for our road trip is coming together nicely.
Grateful to have some positives to post, so at this point those two will do for me today.

Hey FatGirlSlim 26, EXCELLENT work! Good job! Well done! Top woman!
That is an amazing accomplishment — you are to be congratulated and I am very happy for you — especially for your newly rediscovered WAIST!! I still love seeing my ribs, all those years I didn’t know how lovely they are — and a “waist” is even better.
Take yourself forward carefully now — it is easy to lighten up and regain weight. Stay focused on what has worked so far.
And again, warmest congratulations on your loss! (sounds kind of funny but you know what I mean ha ha)
