I notice the BSD calls for either Greek Yogurt, Creme Fraiche or Plain Yogurt in various recipes, I live on my own so I do not want to buy pots of different dairy only to throw them away unused, money in the bin!! Is there just ONE of these that can used as an all rounder? then there is no waste? I figure myself its the full fat Greek Yogurt after a little research online, but that’s is not as easy as one may think!! Anyone know for sure?

I would go for full fat greek yoghurt, if a thinner consistency is required for some recipes you could thin it with milk, I suppose. I really do like creme fraiche though as well, so maybe treat yourself to a pot to see if it is worth the occasional purchase, and maybe grouping a few recipes using it together. Cauliflower mash, or broccoli and cauli mash is fantastic with a tablespoon of it stirred in along with a chilli pepper and some garlic, and can be had as an accompaniment with any protein source if you want to use the pot up.

Personally speaking Id go for the Greek yoghurt. Don’t heat it too quickly as it will split which won’t spoil the taste, just the look of the dish. You could try each one in turn to see which you prefer. Some good ideas from MnM.

Thanks for your replies 🙂 The danger for creme fraiche is trying not to eat the whole pot in one go!!! 😉
