I want to loose 6 stone and reassess then, as my starting weight is 22st 10lbs. 1st weeks weight lose was 14lbs or one stone. Really pleased. Didn’t check any other measurements before starting but I got a diabetic to check my levels after dinner and I was 5.4 which understand is fine. Will update on week 2.

    Hi guys
I am a long distance Trucker and as you can imagine I have eaten crap for years at truckstops and roadside cafes.
Started just over two weeks ago and like Neil was impressed with the initial weight loss.
I started at 20 stone 9lbs and weighed myself on Sunday and had to weigh myself several times to believe it as it read 19 stone .
I think those of us who are heavier seem to lose alot of weight at first because our BMI is so high and I notice reading the forums that the guys with less timber to lose lose smaller amount due to being closer to Thier natural BMI.
Anyone else doing this diet plan and working away from home planning meals works best as I now make all meals at home on Saturday and freeze them then put them in a plug in fridge and take out what I need each day.
Find it am extremely hungry on some days especially when doing 15hr shifts.
Determined to do 10 weeks before my glucose tolerance test.
Good luck everyone and reading your comment has helped me keep going and keep focused when I feel the urge to stray off the program.

Wow, well done Nidge64 that’s really impressive. Preparing the meals ahead is a great approach. I’m impressed I even plan meals ahead at home! Good luck.

Thanks for the great comments guys.
The forum is a great support and I hope everyone reaches their goals.
Some days are harder than others but I just have to think what got me into this mess and carry on with gusto.
Keep at it everyone and remember why you are doing this although I am slightly jealous of the people who have completed the program and reached their targets.
Just shows it can be done with real success.
Keep at everyone and keep supporting each other

    Hi Nidge
    Sounds like you’re well organised!
I wonder if you’re still very hungry if you’re having a bit too much carbs and not enough fat. Eat more fat!! Hard to believe but you don’t get hungry.

    Hi Penny.
I am eating alot of fat in steaks /pork and the odd bit of feta cheese plus salmon /Mackerel etc.
I will try eating more fat but the hunger pangs are getting less and if I drink loads of water when they strike it does abate the cravings.
I did the Atkins diet years ago and the BSD is very similar but with less calories as well as a good long term plan for keeping the weight off.
How’s it going on your part and have you achieved any of your goals yet?.
Feeling good today and very optimistic.

    Hi Nidge
I’m glad to hear you’re feeling good. It’s a difficult lifestyle to stay healthy on. So glad you’re tackling it.
I had 30 lbs to lose and have lost 6 in 3 weeks. Which is lower than most but I’m ok with it. I’ve lost 4″ off my waist which is great. My three ‘vital statistics’ ( do people still say that? ) were all the same ( ! ) so 4″ less in the middle is great news. I worked out that given you need a deficit of 3,500 calories to lose a pound of flab it is about right for me to have lost 6. 21,000 calories I haven’t eaten! About a 1000 a day deficit which makes sense.
Hope we all continue to tackle our difficulties and succeed.
    Penny
